since its a more filling effect in the apartment\/house)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HKSV compatible camera (so you have a motion sensor entity in HomeKit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motion sensor in case you don&#8217;t have a HKSV camera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"software-requirements-or-things-to-consider\">Software requirements, or things to consider<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apple Music subscription (&#x1f926;&#x1f3fc;&#x200d;&#x2640;&#xfe0f;)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Audio editor (like Audacity)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Source file of barking dogs of 1 minute (or whatever sound you want to play on your HomePod&#8217;s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"making-your-homepod-bark\">Making your HomePod bark<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are just here for the sound file feel free to download it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/cln.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/HomePodBark.mp3\" preload=\"auto\"><\/audio><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/freesound.org\/people\/Anton\/sounds\/157322\/#\">Dog Bark Staffordshire Bullterrier<\/a> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason you need a 1 minute sound file, is because the current automations in HomeKit can only stop playing a sound after 1 minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So if your sound file is not 1 minute long, it will continue to the next song in the library and that might be whatever song, making it even more obvious there is no actual dog in the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So you really have 2 options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Play a 10-20 second sound clip, add enough silence to get to 1 minute of sound<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy paste the 20 seconds 3 times, making it more or a minute long and a lot of barking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When exporting from Audacity I put &#8220;HomePod&#8221; as an album, so I can find it back easier<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"editing-the-audio\">Editing the audio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve grabbed a &#8220;good sounding bark&#8221;
